Let’s Get Training!

My passion is dogs. Hands down. I love them. I love learning about them, teaching them, growing with them, and educating others about them. As a little girl, I loved animals, little and big. I never wanted to be a vet, so I never saw myself in a career with animals. If I could go back and tell that little girl what she would be able to accomplish in the future, I know she wouldn’t believe me.

In my pre-teens my family moved to Lafayette, Indiana. This move forced a country girl into a city life. I was completely lost and unsure what to do. Trying to discover my future in high school, was difficult. I loved the field of science and wanted to help people. Because of this I decided to enter the Healthcare field. As I was finishing up an EMT program, I had an opportunity to interview with a dog training company in Indianapolis. I had never even thought about this career path, but I jumped at it, and I have never looked back. I spent the next few years training and learning.  I found a way to combine my love for animals with my desire to help others in need. When I placed my first service dog in its new home, I knew I would never go back.

In 2020 I started my own company. It has been a whirlwind of learning and growing. I have been officially training dogs for 8 years as of January 2024. I have worked with K9’s, service dogs, therapy dogs, dogs with aggression and behavioral issues, as well as family pets. I have trained over 300 dogs in that last 8 years. I have learned from some of the best trainers in the world and continue to grow myself with conferences, online education, and hands on practice. I am currently completing my Master Canine Trainer program that is internationally known and is very intense.  It has been so much fun! I have 3 personal dogs, a Labrador Retriever, a Belgian Malinois and a Doberman mix. These 3 keep me on my toes and fill my free time. They have taught me more that I could ever have learned from a book. I’m sure if you follow us, you’ll see lots of pictures of them.

Because this is my passion, it is my hope that I can not only help others with their dog’s training but also by helping them learn about their dog! That includes tips, tricks, and advice!  This blog is going to do just that! I will be adding articles several times a month to give you tidbits of information and help us all grow in our knowledge and love of dogs! Are you excited? Great, Let’s get training!
